The project was to find a not-so-well-known company and re-do their logo. The company I chose was 'Cupcake Beauty Boutique' located in Westchester, NY. I picked this logo for a few reasons. 1. Almost every cupcake company I found had some kind of pink in their logo and I wanted to do something different. 2. Their second logo with the curly font actually confused some people as to whether it was a boutique or a cupcake bakery. My first decision was to get rid of the 'boutique.'
The characteristics I was aiming for were:
to target both men and women
to still look professional, yet modern
       to look trustworthy and cute
As you scroll down, I have many different versions. Some are the store-front logo, some are stickers etc.

My first idea was to come up with a logo that looked like those stickers that are usually on bakery goods. So the first thing I did was to vector out a ridged circle and overlap them. The cupcake was hand-drawn by myself. I started with pink just to see how it would look with the chocolate brown color. I went thru probably 30 different fonts until I came across this one. I thought it was still cute, but not enough to steer men away from the establishment.

Like I said I was going to steer away from the pink, I chose this blue that goes well with the chocolate brown. In this version, I tried adding lines into the cupcake (like the paper wrapper), but I think it is just too much for a logo.
